Fashion Marketing

As the only program of its kind in western Canada, Kwantlen's Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design & Technology program prepares students for careers in the global apparel economy in fashion design, production, marketing and computer technology. Based in Vancouver, BC, this dynamic program features integrated comprehensive industry-based education and training using leading-edge technology; class projects facilitated by prominent apparel companies such as lululemon athletica; and an extensive internship that results in employment.

Most people who apply to fashion school hold a passionate life long interest in fashion. Applicants to our unique programs may come directly from high school, transfer from other institutions, be mature individuals returning to the profession, making a career change or industry personnel seeking upgrading. Applicants have a desire to undertake the depth of study that a degree program offers.

Kwantlen also offers a two-year Fashion Diploma Program (the first two years of the degree program)

  • Do you have a genuine interest in fashion and why people wear what they wear?
  • Are you looking for a career path that combines fashion and business?
  • Are you interested in fashion trend forecasting, styling and visual merchandising or buying?

As of Fall 2010, Kwantlen is offering a two-year Fashion Marketing Diploma program.

Fashion Marketing combines fashion and business knowledge with skills relevant to dynamic careers in fashion market research, trend forecasting, styling, visual merchandising, fashion writing, promotion, buying, sales and management at the wholesale and retail levels.

Hands-on activities, as well as research and writing, promote critical thinking, analysis and synthesis of ideas. Work experiences, participation in fashion events, and excursions to fashion companies in select fashion districts serve as portable classrooms and opportunities to create a broad network.
