The Faculty of Design is pleased to announce a new name for a well established program. Effective March 1, 2010, the Interdisciplinary Design Studies (IDDS) program will now be known as Foundations in Design (FIND).

This name more accurately reflects the content of the program which is based on the four cornerstones of exploration, self-diagnosis, transition and fundamental skill development.

DESIGN
CARES
is a travelling exhibition that celebrates the role graphic designers are taking to make a positive impact on the world. The exhibit displays the work of designers who combine their commitment to social responsibility with award winning creativity.

The exhibit raises awareness of and/or supports advances in guardianship of natural resources, wildlife and the environment, health and safety of individuals and communities, human rights, humanitarian causes, social and cultural causes.

Hosted by the Interdisciplinary Design Studies Program students, faculty and staff at Kwantlen Polytechnic University - Richmond Campus. The idDs students presented this show to bring awareness of the current growing environmental, social and cultural issues and to show how designers can have a positive effect in influencing these issues.

The students felt the show was of particular interest to post-secondary design students from all programs and institutions, students from all post-secondary programs, secondary students and teachers as well as the general public.

Attendance to the exhibit was by donation and raised over $400 that was presented to the David Suzuki Foundation.
