Health & Physical Assessment PNUR 1109
Course Description
Learners will develop proficiency in conducting a health history and physical assessment in a simulated environment using the nursing process and assessment frameworks. They will discuss the roles and responsibilities of the nurse completing a health history and physical assessment, utilize effective communication skills, use critical thinking to collect information and differentiate abnormal from normal findings and document findings according to professional standards.
Course Format
This is an onsite course utilizing the Kwantlen nursing labs on the Surrey Campus. Generally this course is delivered in 2-3 full/partial day workshops.
Course Cost
$500.00 CAD, plus the application fee where applicable
Course Grade
Successful grade for this course is Mastery
Entrance Requirements
To be eligible to register, applicants must have one of the following:
- Completion of Kwantlen Competency Assessment and Enhancement for Nurses' (CAEN) assessment
- A letter of referral from CRNBC
- Current nursing licensure
