Policy Development at Kwantlen

The Policy Protocol and Policy Modification Protocol was approved by Senate and the Board of Governors as of 20 January 2010. 

The Policy Protocol guides the development and revision of policies, including templates for the context, policy and procedures.  The Policy Protocol provides students, faculty, staff, Board Members and others with a set of guidelines for developing policy that will assist in ensuring compliance with legal and other regulatory requirements, managing risk, achieving the University's mission, enhancing operational efficiencies and setting appropriate standards and restraints.  The process is thorough and solicits feedback from the Kwantlen community, allowing for greater transparency in policy development.

The Policy Modification Protocol guides consideration of policies for modification to departmental practices, elimination, consolidation, etc.

An email address has been established whereby comments regarding policies posted for University comment can be directed to the Office of Policy Coordination - policy@kwantlen.ca .  All comments are considered but not necessarily incorporated into the policy or procedure.

The Policy Toolkit will provide you with the information necessary for the development and revision of policy.
