SLD Sponsorship of Co-Curricular Activities/Projects
Student Leadership & Development (SLD)Sponsorship of Co-Curricular Activities/Projects
Up to $2500 of SLD operating funds will be available each year to support student-led co-curricular activities or projects. This funding is intended to complement, not replace funding support from the Student Association and Academic Departments. Proposed activities should support the learning of a number of students, rather than simply the project applicants. While not required, community service applications are encouraged.
Principles
- The project must have goals related to course or program learning outcomes;
- Projects should involve both students and faculty -- ideally with student leadership and faculty advisement;
- Preference will be given to projects that involve student leadership initiative and development;
- Projects that involve an element of community service are encouraged;
- A maximum of $300 per project/request will be granted, with a maximum of $2500 available for the academic year;
- Applications may be submitted online at any time via the SLD website;
- Project initiators must agree to provide proper documentation of expenses (original receipts) and event participation (photos);
- Project initiators must agree to provide SLD with a post-event or project report (link below);
- Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis as remaining funding exists;
- Demonstrated link to learning outcomes;
- Maximum impact/benefit relative to cost, number of students involved and potential for interdisciplinary involvement;
- Efforts to minimize or share expenses;
- Applications will be reviewed as soon as possible by a Student Leadership & Development team;
- Efforts will be made to evaluate applications and inform applicants of potential funding within one week of submission;
